Pistol Safe Handling Course
NOTE: To book this course, you must become a member first. You will not be permitted to attend if you are not a current SBPC member.
Take the first step towards obtaining your pistol licence with our Pistol Safe Handling Course. This comprehensive one-day course combines classroom-based theory with practical dry-fire and live-fire training to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required for the safe handling and use of pistols.
Delivered by experienced instructors in a professional range environment, the course is designed to meet NSW firearms licencing requirements and prepare participants for the next stage of their shooting journey.
Cost: $450 adults / $225 juniors (12–17)
Legal: Participants must be current club members and eligible to complete a NSW P650 Declaration.
Novice & Trainee Shoots
Keep your shooting journey moving forward with our Novice and Trainee Shoots. Supervised range sessions provide hands-on experience, helping you build confidence and sharpen your skills.
Novice shoots are for those that have completed the Pistol Safe Handling Course, but have not received their Probationary Pistol Licence.
Trainee shoots are the next step up, for PPL licence holders who have completed min. 3 Novice shoots.
Important: You have 6 months from receiving your PPL to complete at least 3 Trainee shoots. Failure to do so will result a failure of your PPL Training. This is a legal requirement.
Cost:
Novice shoots $45 per session (ammunition and club pistol use included).
Trainee shoots $60 per session (ammunition and centrefire club pistol use included).
Locations: Silverdale, St Marys and Anzac.
Category H Attendance
Ready to hit the range? Licensed Category H shooters can attend during regular operating hours with no booking required. Grab your gear, bring your enthusiasm, and enjoy a round of shooting whenever the range is open.
Silverdale:
Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 3:45pm

St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre
Monday – Saturday: 10:00am – 10:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Anzac Rifle Range (Malabar)
1st Sunday Monthly: 9:30am – 3:30pm
